<p>Prodn. of new rifamycin derivs. of formula Q-W (I) is effected by (a) reacting a rifamycin S. cpd. of formula Q2-Ro (II) with an N-benzylpiperazine deriv. of formula H-W to give Q2-W (Ia) or (6) reacting a rifamycin S or SV deriv. of formula (IV) with a benzyl deriv. of formula XCH2 Ar to give (I) and opt. (c) converting the prods. to other cpds. (I) or into salts: Q is a gp. of formula Q, or Q2, where W = 4-ArCH2-1-piperazinyl; Ar is a gp. of formula (A); R1 and R2 = 1-4C alkyl and R3-R5 = H or 1-4C alkyl, or R2+R3 = (CH2)4, (CH2)3 or CH=CH-CH=CH opt. substd. by 1-4C alkyl and R1, R4 and R5 = H or 1-4C alkyl, or R3+R4 = (CH2)4, (CH2)3 or CH=CH-CH=CH opt, substd. by 1-4C alkyl and R1, R2 and R5 = H or 1-4C alkyl; Ro = H or halogen; X is a leaving gp.</p> |
