The process comprises reaction of 4-benzyloxy 2-methyl -2H-12-benzothiazine 3-carboxylic -11-dioxide acid with benzosulphonyl chloride or p-toluene sulphonyl chloride and a tert. amine at 0-40 deg.C. The prod. is then reacted on the basis of the corresp. anhydride. The amine can be pyridine or triethylamine, giving 4-hydroxy-2-methyl-type amides.
