PURPOSE:To supplement electrolyte with a fuel cell installed by spraying liquid phosphoric acid electrolyte into grooves by a spray from the side of a cell stack having grooves installed in a gas-nonpermeable plate from which reaction gas is supplied. CONSTITUTION:A spray 10 is inserted into a hole 8b of a fuel gas supply manifold 8 and its tip is moved to the side of matrix layer, to which electrolyte is supplemented, of a cell stack, then phosphoric acid is sprayed from a spray hole 10a of the spray 10 in liquid or mist to the grooves. Inactive gas and phosphoric acid are mutually or simultaneously sprayed from spray holes 10b and 10c. The spray can slightly be rotated manually or automatically in left and right directions to increase spraying area. Phosphoric acid 4a is impregnated in the matrix layer from phosphoric acid supplement holes of a hydrogen electrode layer. |
