PURPOSE:To provide a recorder capable of controlling the number of transfer papers to be transfer printed, by a method wherein a means for feeding back the number of transfer papers test-printed is incorporated in a recorder incorporating a test pattern signal generating means. CONSTITUTION:For example, a recorder 102 incorporating a recording part 101 based on electrophotography and the test pattern signal generating means is provided with a means for feeding back the number of sheets test-printed to a controlling part (host computer) 201. For example, a vertical synchronizing requirement signal VSREQ is outputted from the recorder 102 to the controlling part 201 in accordance with a setting signal VSREQ SET generated in the recorder 102 each time of using a transfer paper during test printing. The controlling part 201 counts the signals VSREQ obtained in accordance with the number of sheets of papers supplied, even during the test printing, whereby the number of the transfer papers used in the test printing is securely detected and controlled. |
