PURPOSE:To transmit efficiently video information by adopting time division transmission to constitute a transmission system with transmission lines or radio transmission channels whose number is smaller than the number of video input means and video display means. CONSTITUTION:Video information from video cameras 1a-1e are switched selectively by a transmission switching circuit 2 and are transmitted to a transmission line 3. Video information transmitted by the transmission line 3 are led to a reception switching circuit 4 and are switched synchronously with the transmission switching circuit 2 and are supplied to video monitors 5a-5e selectively. Video monitors 5a-5e are provided in 1:1 for video cameras 1a-1e and are installed in a monitor room, a command room of a robot, or the like and are monitored by a monitor 6. The direction of the line of sight of the monitor 6 is detected by a sight direction detector 7, and a switch controller 8 is operated by this detection output to control transmission and reception switching circuits 2 and 4.
