The invention relates to a process for controlling the sequence of movements of glass gobs and/or glass bodies whilst they are still plastically deformable in the production of hollow glass containers by means of production machines which operate by the series principle and have hydraulically actuated drives for their moving machine parts, which drives are controlled by means of microprocessors. The invention proposes, during the production of glass gobs or glass bodies on so-called series machines, as long as the former are still plastically deformable, influencing their sequence of movement such that a minimum of glass defects results from unwanted deformation, such that the glass gob and/or glass bodies (3, 13) experience positive and/or negative accelerations on its and/or on their movement paths such that forces on the moving glass gob or glass body (3, 13) which result from gravity and/or from the movement correspond to specific predetermined values (Figure 3). <IMAGE>
