In order to provide a net for moulding into highly elastic coatings, in particular for roofing, consisting of threads directed at an angle to one another, whose extensibility in each surface direction is adjusted to the extensibility of the coating material, it is proposed that in each case several individual polymer threads are woven to give a thread rope, that these woven thread ropes are woven to give a woven composite having polygonal meshes and that the thread ropes forming the meshes are woven in each direction of the net, at least in relation to the immediately adjacent mesh. <IMAGE>
