On a cover for the housing of an electrical component, especially a capacitor in the form of a can and consisting of a plastic moulding which is provided with a circumferential edge seal and has at least one recess which is likewise provided with an edge seal, it is intended to achieve the object of producing a cover for the housing of an electrical component in a single operation, such that a perfect seal is achieved without taking into account the quality of the edge of the can and of the edge of the rivets. The invention achieves this object in that the plastic moulding consists of elastic synthetic material containing glass fibres, in that the edge seal consists of concentric sealing lips which are integrally formed on the plastic moulding, and in that the sealing lips on the edge of the plastic moulding are arranged on the edges of the circumferential surface of the plastic moulding.
