Simple mechanism converting a rocking movement into a displacement movement. The invention relates to a device fitted to carrying toys, enabling a child to move/him/herself by rocking. It consists of a carrier 1 mounted on wheels 4 and 5 on which are fixed, on both sides, two guides 2. When the user rocks on the seat element 3, a movable pinion 8 held by a spring 9 engages a stationary pinion 7 in forward rock and releases it in rearward rock. A cord 10 attached to the rocking element and stretched so as to return by a spring 11 under the carrier transmits movement to the assembly. The device according to the invention is intended particularly for children's toys. <IMAGE>
