Cycloaliphatic alcohol and its use as a perfuming ingredient

2-(4-(tert-Butyl)-1-cyclohexyl)-1-propanol, a new chemical entity, has odorant properties useful in developing notes of musky, woody or sandal type. Its preparation is carried out from 4-(tert-butyl)-1-cyclohexanone by a 3-stage process.
