<p>PURPOSE:To extend the arc time of a vacuum valve circuit breaker by connecting a capacitor provided near said breaker to be tested to the output terminal of the arc time extending circuit, and further connecting it to an auxiliary breaker through a gap from the terminal of the capacitor. CONSTITUTION:When the auxiliary vacuum valve circuit breakers 4 and 5 to be tested are open and a trigger command is sent out, a trigger gap 12 is discharged and a capacitor bank 17 is charged from a capacitor bank 13 through a resistance 11. Here, the electrostatic capacity value of the bank 17 is set to 1/10 time as large as that of the bank 13 and the gap 18 is set to a gap which is discharged at a voltage lower than the charging voltage of the bank 13; when the terminal voltage of the bank 17 rises up to this value, the gap 18 is discharged automatically and then the bank 17 is short-circuited through the breakers 4 and 5. The wiring length of this short circuit is short and the inductance is low, so an impulsive current on which a high frequency is superposed flows to increase di/dt when the current crosses a zero line, thereby extending the arc time of the vacuum valve circuit breaker.</p> |
