A method and apparatus for cooling is disclosed in which cyclicly in a first step refrigerant is solar heated and pressurised, in a second step, the pressure is used to transfer the refrigerant to a refrigeration circuit (30) and drive it around the circuit, and in a third step the refrigerant is returned to the pressurisation section (28). The third step may rely on the action of a gravity, and a snap-action float valve (60) may be employed to initiate the third step once a predetermined quantity of refrigerant has condensed in the refrigeration circuit. <IMAGE> |
