Motor caravan which combines the advantages of a motor caravan and of a vehicle/caravan combination, and additional space is obtained in the caravan and on the roof of the caravan. By virtue of the fact that the car and the caravan are connected in the manner of a semi-trailer; as a result there is a small overall length and the driving behaviour is good accompanied by the possibility of separating car and caravan. The part of the caravan roof which protrudes over the car can be opened and an additional chamber can be obtained from this by means of a rising roof or tent tarpaulins, and the said chamber can be used as a means of climbing onto the rest of the roof of the caravan, as a result of which the said roof can be used, for example, as a sundeck.
