In order to ease the discomfort due to varices, or to compensate for the effects on pilots due to the forces generated in tight turns performed at high speed, the article of clothing comprises first a substantially inextensible envelope, e.g. boots, stockings, or an anti-gravity flight suit, covering the points of the body in question, and secondly a hydraulic device comprising, on the one hand, a sac of impermeable and flexible material placed between the envelope and the body, and, on the other hand, a reservoir for liquid, normally, during use, at a level above that of the bag and connected with the latter.
