In a method of sealing off contaminated waste disposal bodies from their depository, the bottom seal, that is to say in the base area, still constitutes a weak point. Conventional practice is to stabilise the soil in the base area by injecting free-flowing stabilising agents. According to the prior art, the stabilising agents are fed in through the waste disposal body. Even disturbance of the waste disposal body in the process is considered to be serious. In addition, there is only a limited guarantee for the effectiveness of those known measures. There are no appropriate means of checking. In order to obtain an effective, checkable bottom seal while treating the waste disposal body as carefully as possible, channels running at a distance from one another are to be created below the base according to the proposal of the invention. The necessary injections are carried out from these channels. In this arrangement, the channels can be created like a small tunnel heading and can be secured with pipes put in subsequently. Telescopic lances are to be used for the injections to be carried out from the channels or pipes. In addition, at at least one channel or pipe at a deeper point, the overlying base area can be kept permeable and the channel or the pipe can be designed as a collecting line (drain line) for seepage water. The method serves to temporarily secure (encapsulate) critical waste disposal bodies and is ... for subsequent treatment (destruction) ... Original abstract incomplete.
