PURPOSE:To heighten practicality and safety by stopping card transport means when a card is jammed and driving the transport means in the opposite direction to the transport direction after a jammed card is cleared to send back the card to eliminate wasteful jam removing operation. CONSTITUTION:A loading device 2 detachably mounted on an operation part of a reader printer 1 includes a separation plate 12 on which a lot of cards 11 are vertically arranged, wherein the cards 11 are sequentially fed out by a feed roller 13 from the front card first. Subsequently, the card 11 is transported to a projecting portion 5 through transport means comprising a pair of transport roller 17 and separation roller 18 and a pair of transport roller 20 and follower roller 21 which are rotated in direction of arrows. The existence of the card 1 is judged according to whether a magnet 34 having an actuator 33 confronts with a lead switch 35. When it is detected that there is no card though a transport operation signal exists, it is judged that a jam is caused, and the transport means is stopped, and then driven in the opposite direction. |
