摘要 PURPOSE:To attain calculation as to the height of an image pickup region with high accuracy from stereo picture pairs by extracting a boundary line between regions of two pictures (stereo picture pairs) and checking the connecting relattion and corresponding relation. CONSTITUTION:Each picture of the stereo picture pairs from a picture file 111 is stored in a picture memory 112. After the picture is classified by a picture classifying device 113, the region is extracted by a region extracting device 115 via the picture memory 114 and its region is stored in a picture memory 116. The boundary line or the like is extracted from the data in the memory 116 by a boundary line classifying extracting device 118 via a pickup condition data 117, and the region/boundary line/connecting point description generating device 1110 check theconnecting relation and corresponding relation and the result is stored in the memory 1111. The data of the memory 1111 is outputted to a qualitative height calculation device 1112, from which the qualitative height is calculated and outputted to the memories 1113 and 1111. Thus, the height of the image pickup region is calculated with high accuracy.
