The device comprises, apart from a transfer table supporting the workpieces, a brushing head equipped with two pairs of rotary brushes whose bristles extend approximately parallel to the axis of rotation of the brushes. The drive shafts (25a, 25b) of two pairs of brushes are supported by a circular component (4) rotationally driven in one direction (F1). The drive shafts (25a) of one pair of brushes are fitted with two cogged wheels (26) meshing with an internally toothed ring gear (16) fixed inside a bell-shaped component and thus revolving in the opposite direction (F2) to the circular component (4). The drive shafts (25b) of the second pair are also fitted with two cogged wheels (27) meshing with a cogged wheel (18) and revolve in the same direction as the circular component (4). <IMAGE>
