PURPOSE:To stabilize an optical coupling efficiency and an optical waveguide characteristic by making an optical fiber and the inside wall of a housing roughly orthogonal to each other, in an optical circuit device which has utilized a grating coupling element. CONSTITUTION:A grating coupling element 15 is provided on the surface of an optical waveguide 11 provided on an optical circuit substrate 12, and also an optical fiber 14 to be coupled optically is provided on the surface of the grating coupling element 15. The optical fiber 14 is placed so as to pass through an open hole 32 roughly coinciding with the normal direction of an inside wall 31 of a housing without bending it roughly, an optical fiber 32 is fixed to the inside wall 31 of the housing by an adhesive layer 33, and also the optical circuit 12 is fixed to the housing 13. |
