PURPOSE:To make an optical signal branch from one cable to the other cable without cutting an optical cable by arranging in parallel and curving two optical fibers provided with a transparent covering, and wrapping the curved parts in common by a transparent substance. CONSTITUTION:Optical cables 1, 2 which have wrapped optical fibers 4, 4' with transparent coverings 5, 5' are arranged in parallel and curved, and its curved parts are surrounded by a transparent silicone oil 3. The silicone oil 3 forms an elliptical section by a surface tension, and surrounds the optical cables 1, 2. An optical signal emitted through the transparent covering 5 from the optical fiber 4 advances as indicated with an arrow, and it is reflected by the silicon oil 3, passes through the transparent covering 5', and made incident on the optical fiber 4'. In this way, the optical signal can be made to branch from one optical cable to the other optical cable. |
