PURPOSE:To join members together in high adhesive-degree and in excellent strength and to mak a process short, by plastically flowing the members with each other under a restricting formation and joining the members together by deforming them. CONSTITUTION:When a restricting formation is started in a state of mounting a slug 4 on a lower die and a pin 5 on an upper punch 8 after boring a hole in the slug 4 for inserting the pin 5, the pin 5 is inserted to the position where a space 9 is left at its front end. Thereafter, when the punch 8 is lowered, a compressive force is added to the diametral direction of the inserted pin 5 by a pressing force P of punch 8, and when the force P exceeds the yielding point of pin 5, the pin 5 extends its front end into the space 9 while flowing plastically. And an intermediate part 10 is contracted to tightly contact with the plastically flowing part of slug 4, and is joined to each other, thereby forming the appearance.
