PURPOSE:To ensure the parallel movement of a holder mechanism without generating its looseness and prevent polishing performance from worsening, by integrally mounting a moving bed of the holder mechanism of an optical fiber to the main unit of a polishing machine to be connected with a moving mechanism, in the case of a polishing device of the optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:A polishing device forms an optical fiber holder mechanism, movably provided in parallel to a polishing surface 1a, from two parts of an optical fiber mounting board 4 and a moving bed 6, mounting this moving bed 6 to the main unit of a polishing machine to be connected with a parallel moving mechanism. The optical fiber mounting board 4, being removably provided in the moving bed 6, is equipped with a plurality of plug holders 5 exchangeably holding an optical fiber plug P. Accordingly, only the mounting board 4 can be removed from the main unit of the polishing machine when polishing is completed. While the polishing device enables the optical fiber holder mechanism to collectively mount the plural plugs P, in a condition they are set to the mounting board 4, onto the moving bed 6 in the main unit of the polishing machine, stably performing a parallel movement of the holder mechanism and ensuring polishing performance.
