PURPOSE:To permit a thick plate to be sheared off with no improper shearing, by configurating a thick plate shearing machine in such a manner that the proper follow-up motion of the rod of a control cylinder to a pressure roller can be ascertained accurately and easily. CONSTITUTION:A thick plate shearing machine is composed of a plurality of m metal pieces 11 that are provided at an equal interval on the outer surface of a pressure roller 10 on the side of a control cylinder 9, and furthermore of an eddy current probe 12 arranged in a place close to the roller 10. Output signals from the probe 12 are next transmitted to a computer for calculating the number of revolution of the roller 10. Proper rotation of the roller 10 is ascertained based on the above said computation, that is, proper follow-up motion of the rod 9a of the control cylinder 9 to the roller 10 is ascertained. This configuration allows the thick plate to be sheared off with no improper shearing. |
