PURPOSE:To perform a precise and uniform correction of convergence in a short time by making automatic adjustment by detecting a lag of convergence and by performing automatic correction of convergence based upon the detected data. CONSTITUTION:A signal outputted from a signal source 1 is amplified by an image amplifier 2 and drives a shadow mask type color cathode ray tube 3. A convergence control circuit 15 has a circuit to deal with a signal to be inputted form an optical sensor 16, a memory device to store data to impress electric current to a convergence coil by outputting to a D/A conversion 6 and a circuit to control a source of a signal. A symbol 10 shows a deflecting yoke, which performs deflection of an electric beam of the colored cathode-ray tube 3 by a synchronous signal to be inputted to an input terminal 8 of the synchronous signal by a deflecting circuit 9.
