<p>Novel 4,5-bis(4-methoxyphenyl)-2-(pyrrol-2-yl)-thiazoles of the formula:
<Chemistry id="chema01" num="0001"><Image id="ia01" he="35" wi="85" file="IMGA0001.TIF" imgContent="chem" imgFormat="TIFF" inline="no" /></Chemistry>wherein R<Sup>1</Sup> is C<Sub>1-4</Sub> alkyl, C<Sub>2-4</Sub> alkenyl, C<Sub>2-4</Sub> alkynyl, 2,2,2-trifluoroethyl, a group of the formula: -CH<Sub>2</Sub>COOR<Sup>2</Sup> (R<Sup>2</Sup> is C<Sub>1-8</Sub> alkyl, C<Sub>2-4</Sub> alkenyl, C<Sub>2-4</Sub> alkynyl, or phenyl-C<Sub>1-2</Sub> alkyl), or a group of the formula: -(CH<Sub>2</Sub>)<Sub>n</Sub>-A-R<Sup>3</Sup> (A is oxygen or sulfur, R<Sup>3</Sup> is C<Sub>1-4</Sub> alkyl or C<Sub>2-4</Sub> alkenyl, and n is 1, 2 or 3), a process for the preparation of the compounds, and a pharmaceutical composition useful as a platelet aggregation inhibitor which comprises as an active ingredient the above 4,5-bis(4-methoxyphenyl)-2-(pyrrol-2-yl)thiazole compound in admixture with a conventional pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or diluent.</p> |
