COPYING EQUIPMENT

A copying apparatus is provided comprising a copying means for generating a copy of an original. In order to allow only such originals to be copied by a user which belong to a class corresponding to user criteria proved by the user, data characterizing the class on the originals are scanned and supplied to a comparator for checking whether the criteria are fulfilled. The data may be a bar code in an area not copied or in an ink not reproducible eg UV-reflective
