PURPOSE:To prevent leakage of a coolant through bolt holes by providing coolant passages consisting of slit grooves to the rear of a casting wheel, sealing hermetically the aperture side thereof by an O-ring and turning backward the O-ring to the adjacent coolant passage in front of the part where a side plate mates with feed and discharge ports. CONSTITUTION:A cooling ring 11 having slit passages 10 for cooling water on the rear is mated laterally with an O-ring 13 for sealing the passages 10 and an O-ring 14 for sealing the inside and outside circumferences and is supported and fixed by means of lock bolts 15. The cooling water 9 is directly fed to and discharged from the ring 11 from the side plate 12. More specifically, the passages 10 are worked over the entire circumference of the ring 11 but the O-ring 13 is turned backward to the adjacent passage 10 just before the feed and discharge ports 19. The bolts 15 are disposed in the space enclosed by the U-turn of the O-ring 13. The execution of the feed and discharge of the cooling water from the side plate 12 and the prevention of the leakage of the cooling water through the bolt 15 holes are made possible by the above-mentioned constitution. |
