PURPOSE:To forge a billet in well extrusion formability by forming a pool of lubricating oil, by uniting a taper face, formed at one end of the billet before forging, and the conical bottom of a large-diameter hole, for forcing-in and forging the billet by inserting it in itself, with each other. CONSTITUTION:A taper face 1a is formed at one end of a billet 1, and the billet 1 is inserted in a large-diameter hole 11 provided to a lower die 8 of die device 5. A small hole 12 is provided to the conical bottom 14 of the hole 11, which is concentrically communicated to the hole 11 through an opening located at the bottom 14, and an ejector pin 15 is inserted in the hole 12. The taper face 1a is provided with a central angle larger than that of the bottom 14, to form a pool 13 of lubricating oil for scraping up the lubricating oil coated on the inner surface of hole 11. In this way, the oil is pushed out into the hole 12 when the billet 1 is pressed by a punch 9, and a base material 2 having a shaft part 3 is obtained in well extrusion formability.
