PURPOSE:To prepare a coal-water slurry having desired fluidity, without using an expensive additive for the control of pH, e.g. alkali, etc., by mixing a slightly acidic - neutral coal-water slurry with an alkaline coal-water slurry at a controlled mixing ratio to attain the desired pH level. CONSTITUTION:Coal exhibiting slightly acidic - neutral state in aqueous slurry is used as a raw material to obtain a slightly acidic - neutral coal-water slurry, and coal exhibiting alkaline state in aqueous slurry is used as a raw material to prepare an alkaline coal-water slurry. Both slurries are mixed together at a proper ratio to obtain a slurry having desired pH level.
