PURPOSE:A pack preparation that contains, as an esential ingredient, carbon dioxide, thus stimulating blood flows in skins by directly acting on skins and giving well moisture to skin without unpleasant irritation to the applied sites and enabling long-term application without anxiety of dermatitises. CONSTITUTION:The objective pack preparation contains carbon dioxideliberating substances selected from carbon dioxide gas or combinations of carbonates such as sodium bicarbonate with an acid such as citric acid. The stimulation of blood flows by carbon dioxide reruires the pH in the atmosphere where the carbon dioxide exists to be 4-7, preferably 6.0-6.7 for good effect. The concentration of carbon dioxide in the preparation is preferably more than 60ppm. The preparation can also be combined with a conventional pack preparation or used solely as a carbon dioxide pack preparation. For example, a conventional pack preparation is put in a pressure vessel and high-pressure carbon dioxide or a carbon dioxide sources such as a combination of a carbonate with an acid is introduced into the vessel, the vessel is tightly closed. When it is applied, the content is pressed out of the vessel to the place to be packed. |
