PURPOSE:To reduce the permanent set of flexible contactors which constitute a conductive brush and prevent a body to be charged electrostatically from being damaged with contactors by coating a high polymer layer which contains conductive particles with another high polymer and thus providing contactors in a two-layer structure. CONSTITUTION:The conductive brush 2 contacts the surface of the body 1 to be charged electrostatically and this brush 2 uses a roller type conductive brush 2 constituted by implanting numbers of contactors 2b in a roller body 2a. A voltage is impressed to the brush 2 to charge the surface of the body 1 electrostatically. Contactors 2b are flexible conductive fiber in the two-layer structure consisting of a high polymer layer 4 containing conductive particles 3 and a high polymer coating layer 5 of another high polymer. Consequently, the permanent curvature of contactors is reduced and the body to be charged electrostatically is never damaged; and stable electrostatic charge is maintained and the durability of the body to be charged electrostatically is improved. |
