PURPOSE:To aim at the promotion of lightweightiness in a pump head as a whole and its low-unit cost of production, by constituting a casing, an impeller and a casing cover all requiring size accuracy with high-grade metals as in the past, while using synthetic resin for parts including a head cover and the like being merely water passable applications. CONSTITUTION:A vortex flow pump part consisting of a casing 11, an impeller 17 and a casing cover 20 is of construction in type as in the past and made up of high-grade metals, for example, a combination of anticorrosion metallic materials including bronze and the like so that size accuracy to be required for this pump is demonstrable, and the casing 11 and the casing cover 20 are engated and come into contact with each other by a combination of metallic materials alone so that any deformation in time of installation is preventable from occurring. Likewise, a head chamber 1 is made up of synthetic resin whereby a sleeve 7, a suction side water passage 5, a scheck valve chest, a discharge side water passage 6, a separator chamber 8, etc., are all formed into such a structure as capable of solid molding. With this constitution, the promotion of low- unit cost of production in a pump head on the whole and its lightweightiness are thus attainable.
