PURPOSE:To form a complete water-proofing layer to a thick nonwoven web of synthetic fiber, and to obtain the titled sheet extremely easily, by passing the web through the gap between a pair of hot press rollers to effect the forced impregnation with molten asphalt built up on said rollers. CONSTITUTION:A thick nonwoven web 1 of synthetic fiber is passed through the gap between a pair of hot press rollers 2, 2, and in the course of the passage, the molten asphalt 3 (e.g. blown asphalt) built up on the hollow part formed by the rollers is impregnated completely in the web to form an asphalt sheet A having a complete water-proofing layer. The sheet A manufactured by the process is applied to the concrete substrate 4 treated with an asphalt primer. Complete water-proofing work can be carried out easily by this process, without lifting an asphalt kettle on the roof nor necessitating skilled labor.
