PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of a number of unspecified informations by a method wherein a pickup element detects and tracks the faces of an object which it catches at an initial position, while the beginnings and ends thereof are put in correspondence so as to calculate the distance to the object, and thus informations on three-dimensional positions are obtained. CONSTITUTION:A pickup element 1 moves along a shaft 4 to pickup positions PO-PM respectively. On the other hand, it has a function of transducing outside optical informations into electric signals of a two-dimensional picture, and delivers picture signals to an analog-digital conversion circuit 7 of a conversion storage circuit 6. The data of a picture memory 10 which are inputted at the initial position PO are divided regionally into faces by a picture processing circuit 11 and stored as a multiple-valued picture in a first picture memory 13 of a storage circuit 12. This processing is repeated from the position PO-PM and the coordinates of picture elements at the positions PO and PM are put in correspondence so as to calculate the distance to an object. By this method, informations on the three-dimensional positions of a number of unspecified objects can be obtained with high accuracy. |
