<p>1,2,4-Triazol-l-yl-propionitriles of the general formula < IMG > in which R represents an aryl radical optionally substituted by one or more of the same or different substituents selected from halogen atoms and (C1-C4)-alkyl, (C1-C4)alkoxy, (C,1-C4)alkylthio, trifluoromethyl and nitro groups and represents a (C1-C10)alkyl, (C3-C8)alkenyl, or (C3-C8)alkynyl radical, or a phenylalkyl radical optionally substituted by one or more of the same or different substituents selected from halogen atoms and (Cl-C4)alkyl, (Cl-C4)alkoxy, (C1-C4)-alkylthio, trifluoromethyl and nitro groups, acid addition salts thereof with inorganic and organic acids, a process for the preparation of these compounds, and biocidal agents containing them are provided. The agents have a herbicidal, fungicidal, plant growth-regulatory action and also a bactericidal action and may be used for treating seeds, living plants and crop areas and also animate and inanimate substrates subject to bacterial attack.</p> |
