PURPOSE:To reduce the steps of manufacturing processes, simplify the facilities and easily extract external leads by utilizing line conductors such as carbon fibers as the anode. CONSTITUTION:An anode substrate is manufactured by that the carbon fiber 2b is continuously coated with phosphor material using the carbon fiber 2b as the anode material, the carbon fibers 2b are arranged with predetermined pitch on a glass substrate 20 coated with a low melting point glass on the line and the binder made of phosphor material is baked simultaneously with fixing of carbon fibers 2b with low melting point glass. Thereby, manufacturing steps can be reduced and simplified. Moreover, a photomask which is required for photoetching is no longer necessary and therefore manufacturing steps can be reduced and facilities can also be simplified. Since a part of carbon fiber 2b is directly guided to the outside of vacuum case not illustrated as the anode lead, such lead wire can be extracted easily. |
