<p>PURPOSE:To fasten and secure cam carriers and a cam cap to a cylinder head with a small number of bolts, by fastening the cam carrier and the cam cap together to the cylinder head. CONSTITUTION:A cam carrier 21 for receiving the journal sections of an intake valve cam shaft 15 and an exhaust valve cam shaft 20 is arranged on a cylinder head 2 secured to a cylinder block 1 with the use of bolts 4, and the cam shafts 15, 20 supported on the carrier 21 are supported at their upper sides by means of cam caps 22, 23. The cam carrier 21 and the cam caps 22, 23 are fastened together to the cylinder head 2 on both sides of the cam shafts 15, 20 by means of bolts 24, etc. The number of used bolts may be reduced so that the arrangement of the cam shaft holding structure may be simplified.</p> |
