<p>The plant comprises one or more moulding units (joined together so as to operate simultaneously), consisting of two mould parts defining between them >=2 cavities into which slip can be introduced for forming discrete articles. The mould units can be sepd. into two halves by a horizontal movement, in which >=1 of the mould halves is carried so as to be moved wrt. the support structure. Used esp. for mfr. of sanitary ware in vitreous porcelain. For any mould unit giving two or more articles, mfg. time is reduced compared with using individual moulds. The mould units may be located simply on wheeled carriages. The amount of floor space occupied by a multiply tooled unit is much less than for a single tooled unit etc.</p> |
