PURPOSE:To produce the titled slurry having high storage stability and a high combustion efficiency, by dehydrating a coal/water slurry contg. coal at a low concn. after removing coarse grains, and mixing water and additives with the resulting dehydrated cake with stirring. CONSTITUTION:Water and coal are fed through feed lines 1, 3 to a wet-process mill 3 and subjected to a wet-process pulverizing treatment to obtain a coal/water slurry contg. coat at a low concn. of 20-50wt%. The slurry is fed through a transportation line 4 to a classifier 5 to classify it into a coarse grain- contg. low-concentration slurry and a coarse grain-cut low concentration slurry. The coarse grain-contg. slurry is recycled through a returning recycle line 6 to the mill 3. The coarse grain-cut slurry is fed through a line 7 to a dehydrator 8 to dehydrate it. The resulting dehydrated cake is fed through a line 10 to an agitator 11 where water and additives fed through lines 12, 13 are mixed with the cake.
