<p>PURPOSE:To provide a water-based blue or red ink which has excellent ejectability, does not cause clogging and gives a printed image having excellent resistance to water and light, containing a specified water-soluble dye. CONSTITUTION:A water ink compsn. contains a water-soluble dye of formula I (wherein Ar1, Ar2 are each naphthol, naphthylamine, aminonaphthol contg. 1-3 sulfo groups), such as compds. of formulas II, III. The dye is used in a quantity of 0.5-30pts.wt., pref. 1.5-6pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. ink. The ink compsn. has excellent ejectability, does not cause clogging, is blue or red in color, gives a printed image having excellent resistance to water and light in particular and is suitable for use as ink for ink jet printing.</p> |
