PURPOSE:To know the position of a scintillator on which radiation is incident by ANDing outputs of adjacent PM (photoelectron multiplier tube). CONSTITUTION:Two arrays of PMs 5 are provided on each scintillator 1 in the circumferential direction and shift from each other by one scintillator. Consequently, each PM5 couples optically with two adjacent scintillators 1 without fail and adjacent scintillators 1 couple optical with one PM5 without fail. When radiation is incident on the 1st scintillator 1, the (N-1)th and the (N)th PMs 5 generate an output. For the purpose, outputs of the (N-1)th and the (N)th PMs 5 are ANDed to obtain the output of only the 1st scintillator. |
