PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration in color reproducibility due to change in a color temperature by corresponding to the level of a modulated chroma signal and the phase of a color subcarrier modulated by the modulated chroma signal to the color temperature of a lighting light source so as to correct them. CONSTITUTION:The color subcarrier inputted from a terminal 9 is divided into two phases required to form the modulated chroma signal by a phase shift circuit 10 and fed to two phase circuits 11, 12. The phase of the color subcarrier is adjusted so as to compensate the deterioration of the color reproducibility in response to the color temperature of the lighting light source by the circuits 11, 12. The subcarrier whose phase is adjusted is modulated by two color difference signals obtained from gain control circuits 7, 8 by a modulator 13 and the modulated chroma signal is formed. The amount of adjustment in response to the color temperature is decided by a calculation circuit 19 from the value of the color temperature obtained from a color temperature detecting circuit 14 provided separately.
