PURPOSE:To prevent the finding of the sensor by an intruder, by setting the outer diameter of a can within a specified value, thereby making the sensor compact. CONSTITUTION:In order to make the configuration of an infrared-ray detector compact, it is necessary to reduce the configuration of an infrared-ray sensor, which is provided in the inside. An infrared-ray filter 21 is mounted on the top part of a TO-5 type can 20. A pyroelectric element 22 is arranged in the inside. With the outer diameter of 6-3mm. of the can as a reference, the standard design values of the element 22, which are the optimum values in performance with respect to the can 20, are determined as follows: the ratio of the width W is 1; the ratio of the length L is 2; the ratio of the gap G between sensitive surfaces is 1; and the ratio of the space gap l in the longitudinal direction of the side and the space gap G in the direction of the width are 1. |
