PURPOSE:To allow the write of important data to a mid-track most stable against temperature and to minimize the access time by providing a sensor for N/2 track detection in a floppy disc having N-cylinder. CONSTITUTION:The device consists of a floppy disc 4, a THETA track detecting projection 6 connected to a cariage 7 for supporting a magnetic head 3, an N/2 track detecting projection 5 provided to a position not detected by a THETA track sensor 1, an N/2 track sensor 2 and a means transmitting an output of the sensor 2 to a controller. The THETA track sensor 1 and the N/2 track sensor 2 are constituted of phototransistors A. When an N/2 detection signal (a) is obtained by moving the carriage 7 outward, the information is read and written and it is possible to access a track parted remotely by having only to move the head by N/2 track's share. |
