PURPOSE:To improve the vibration proof performance by fitting a playing means including a turntable and an optical pickup means to a disc carrying mechanism via a vibration proof member and fitting the disc carrying mechanism to the housing via the vibration proof member. CONSTITUTION:A chassis 7 constituting the disc carrying mechanism is supported to the housing 2 via four vibration proof members 8 made of rubber, etc. The support member 28 is fitted to the lower face of the chassis 7 via four vibration proof members 29 made of soft and flexible rubber, etc. The playing means consists of a carriage drive motor 38, the turntable 45, the spindle motor, the support means 28, guide shafts 30a, 30b, and carriage 34. The optical pickup means including an objective lens 33a irradiating a laser spot light to the disc 5 and reading information from the disc is contained in the case 33 being a part of the carriage 34.
