PURPOSE:To lock a carriage automatically during transportation and to prevent damage to a magnetic disk by providing a rotary solenoid having a pawl for fixing a magnetic head carriage and a carriage having an edge part fixed by the pawl. CONSTITUTION:When a power source is off, a claw 6 of the edge part 10 of a coil bobbin 4 catches and a magnetic head 2 does not move on a magnetic disk 1. Damage to the magnetic disk 1 caused by the magnetic head 2 can be prevented by carrying it under this condition. When the power source is turned on, the rotary solenoid moves the pawl 6 to the position of a stopper pin 9. Then, the coil bobbin 4 is released from the claw 6 and made movable freely in the direction AB. |
