PURPOSE:To obtain an image having an excellent gradient, a broad exposure latitude and a high sensitivity at a whole visible wavelength by forming at least two layers of emulsion layers contg. each coloring matters of a sensitizier of a specific combination and also contg. a core/ shell type AgX having cores of a low and a high concns. of AgI respectively. CONSTITUTION:At least two layers of AgX emulsion layers contg. the core/ shell type AgX particles in which a content of AgI in the core part is higher than that of the shell part, is formed on the substrate, thereby obtaining the titled material having the prescribed properties. One of the above described layers contains AgX having 0.1-3.0mol% a low AgI concn., and also contg. the prescribed sensitizers shown by formula I wherein R1 and R2 are each an alkyl group, X<-> is an anion, (l) is 0 or 1, and formula II wherein Z1 and Z2 are each S or Se, Y1 and Y2 are each a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom or an alkyl group, R3-R5 are each an alkyl group, (m) is 0 or 1. Another layer is the AgX cong. 3.0-7.0mol% a high AgI concn., and contains the prescribed sensitizier shown by formulas II and III wherein R6 and R7 are each an alkyl group, Y3 is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group, Z3 is an atom capable of formuling a heteroring, (n) is 0 or 1. The titled material has also an excellent reproducibility of a tone. |
