Quick fitting device for fixing an electric cooking platen (7) in to a corresp. size mounting plate (2). The plate is produced pref. in a cylindrical form by the deep drawing method. Screws (3) are used to secure it to a support plate (1) of the electric cooker. The screws are arranged with their heads towards the bottom. The electric cooking platen is held in the mounting plate by an anchor part (15) and fixed by means of a bayonet fitting or set bolt (14). A central cover plate (18) is provided to hide the bolt head. The floor of the mounting plate is provided with a thermal insulating layer of inorganic fibres.
