PURPOSE:To obtain a correctly corresponding static picture at a reproducing time of a moving picture or a sound by forming a terminal for outputting a signal synchronized with the recording operation of an electronic still camera and including track address information to be recorded to an external time series recorder. CONSTITUTION:In the electronic still camera 1, an image pickup part 3 for converting picture information from a photographing lens 2 into a video signal and a recording part 6 for recording the video signal on a sheet-like magnetic recording medium 5 as plural tracks on the basis of a writing instruction are unitedly formed. The camera 1 is provided with a counter 8 for counting up the number of photographed sheets synchronously with the releasing operation of a release button 7, a CPU9 for outputting a signal including the track address information of the video signal and an access mechanism part 10 for controlling a magnetic head 4 through the CPU9. A synchronizing signal from the CPU9 is outputted to an output terminal 11 formed in the camera 1. The output terminal 11 is connected to a line input terminal 21 of a tape recorder 20 through a cable 12.
