PURPOSE:To improve the follow-up property of a recording/reproducing head to a track and, at the same time, to increase the recording capacity of a discoidal recording medium, by alternately arranging servo tracks and data tracks on the medium and providing a servo head and recording/reproducing head under a united condition correspondingly to the alternate arrangement. CONSTITUTION:The frequency of servo data is greatly different from the frequency os user data recorded on data tracks, because the former is about 1/4- 1/8 of the latter. Therefore, servo tracks and data tracks are separated from each other by arranging magnetic materials (a) and (b) having different frequency characteristics in a grind on the concentric circles of a magnetic disk 8 and two recording/reproducing heads 3 are manufactured under a united condition with a prescribed interval between them. One of the heads 3 is connected with a data signal circuit 1 and used as a recording/reproducing head 3 and the other is connected with a servo signal circuit 2 and used as a servo head 4. The recording/reproducing head 3 and servo head 4 are made to correspond to the data tracks and servo tracks. |
